Its Earth Hour this weekend people! And we all need to play our part. Switch off all lights and anything else that may be 'plugged in' between 8:30 and 9:30pm your local time on the 26th of March.
Earth Hour is a global event which is organised by WWF ( World Wildlife Fund), and is annually held on the last Saturday of March. Earth hour was started to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. It all started in Sydney Australia 2007, when 2.2 million residents participated by turning off all non-essential lights. And in 2008 many other cities around the world followed Sydneys example and adopted the event. It has become bigger and bigger each year. So join the rest of the world on Saturday and switch it all off At 8:30pm.
This year WWF is challenging peole to go beyond the hour. Check it out at the website beyond the hour.
